On 20 June 2016, the District Court of Midden-Nederland rendered an important judgment for the practice of fines under the Foreign Nationals (Employment) Act (FNA). The Court sets aside the amounts of fines for violations of Article 15 of the FNA. The 2015 (old) fining polity rules of the Minister of Social Affairs and Employment is disproportionate with respect to Article 15 of the FNA. The Court determines the amount of the fine on the standard amounts for fines as they applied prior to the fine increase on 1 January 2013.
